92% of all UK arts programming can be found on subscription channels?
Digital
broadcasting technology has fundamentally changed the broadcasting
landscape, and the way in which consumers use their television sets.
The plurality and diversity of channels and services available to
consumers across three digital platforms reflects the levels of
dynamism, creativity and competition which now exist in the satellite
and cable sector.
This website serves as a point of contact and resource for professionals
working in the broadcast industry as well as journalists and aims
to be the first port of call for anyone seeking the latest views
and reports from the world of satellite and cable broadcasting. Our Aims
Our aim is to support the interests of our members on a range of issues which affect the cable and satellite industry. We intend to ensure that their needs are communicated effectively to those devising the regulatory framework within which they operate.
We aim to assist our members in bringing the benefits of increased choice and control of television and interactive services to UK viewers. And as viewers increasingly respond to the quality of our members content we will also assist the government in achieving its aim of switching to 100% digital multi-channel broadcasting by 2012.
We also aim to communicate the huge economic benefits that the satellite and cable industry brings to the UK economy.
